During May and June, UZOR in cooperation with the ALB Progres organization organized a series of activities to meet the World Environment Day.
In May, an award competition was announced for elementary school students in Tuzi on the topic of environmental protection and sustainable development, with the aim of encouraging and developing creativity and innovation among children and young people in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. The award competition lasted from May 8 to 30, 2023, and more than 60 literal and artistic works were submitted.
In cooperation with partners from the Capital City and the Embassy of Slovenia, on June 1, a large environmental cleaning campaign was carried out on Ćemovsko polje. This activity was organized at five other locations, namely: Veljko Vlahović Boulevard near the soccer camp, where six bags of waste were removed. Also, three bags of waste were collected at the Ljubović Forest Park, while four bags of waste were removed from the Zlatica Forest Park. Five bags of waste were collected from Sastavak and Tološi forest park, while 70 bags of mostly municipal waste were removed from Ćemovski polje, as well as a smaller amount of bulky waste.

The festival for children and youth in the Tuzi Municipality was held on World Environment Day, in order to encourage the formation of environmental awareness and the development of creativity and innovation among children and youth in the field of sustainable development. The artistic and literary works of all the students who participated in the award competition were presented at the festival. As part of the festival, prizes were awarded for the three best literal and artistic works.

In the category of literal works, Najla Niković, Edon Kalaj and Demir Diglisić received diplomas and awards, while in the category of visual works Mateo Đelaju, Suzana Nikaj and Adisa Bubuljica were awarded.
As part of the festival, a trilingual brochure was presented that presents local specifics, history, traditions along with a map of the territory and a presentation of the cultural and historical heritage of the Municipality of Tuzi.
The activities are implemented within the project “Partnership for the local community – strengthening the contribution of civil society to the development of local policies and practices in the field of ecology and sustainable development” implemented by UZOR, in cooperation with the ALB PROGRESS organization, and supported through the program “CSOs in Montenegro – from basic services to policy formulation – M’BASE”.
