Guidelines for a Better Work Environment of Journalist in Montenegro

29/04/2025

Ahead of World Press Freedom Day, representatives of UZOR, Radio Television of Montenegro, TV Vijesti, and TV E signed a document with guidelines for a better working environment for journalists in Montenegro.

By signing the Guidelines, created by the expert team of the Association for Responsible and Sustainable Development (UZOR), the media commit to establishing internal mechanisms for reporting pressures on journalists, organizing specific training sessions, and providing psychological support to employees, as well as strengthening institutional support and cooperation.

On the other hand, UZOR will provide continuous support to the signatories in implementing the agreed measures.

The document also emphasizes the need to strengthen solidarity among journalists and media houses, as well as a strategic approach to raising awareness about ethical standards and professional integrity.

This document is the result of an agreement reached during last year’s UZOR conference “Journalism in Montenegro: A Profession Where Divisions and Pressures Grow,” where leaders of these three televisions spoke.

We also invite all other interested media houses to join the initiative, sign the Guidelines, and be part of the joint fight for a safe working environment for journalists.
