A significant percentage of citizens (43.7%) believe that the political situation in Montenegro is heading in the wrong direction, identifying weak political leadership and external interference in domestic politics as the most serious issues.

UZOR’s analysis titled “Montenegro: A Zone of Foreign Influence” reveals that citizens attribute the most positive influence on Montenegrin politics to the European Union (24.6%), while Serbia is seen as having the greatest negative impact (14.2%).

On the other hand, our research data indicate that Serbia has the most positive impact on Montenegro’s economy (16.3%), while Russia is perceived as having the most negative impact on the economy (11.6%). Notably, 15.4% of respondents believe that “no” specific state or group of states has a particularly negative impact on the economy.

Additionally, 45.3% of citizens believe that Montenegro does not have fair and free electoral processes, and an alarming statistic shows that nearly 70% of citizens think corruption in the government is a serious issue.

According to citizens, the most pressing security concern facing Montenegro is organized crime, identified by 35.9% of respondents. Cybercrime is the second most concerning issue at 10.8%, followed by immigration at 7.2% and external military threats at 7%.
